Enquirer photographer – “Instead, it was mayhem”

The fight at the end of the Cincinnati-Xavier resulted in more than black eyes for around several players. It also damaged a famed rivalry’s reputation.

Cincinnati Enquirer photographer Jeff Swinger covered the game expecting to shoot on-court jubilation and dejection when it ended. It was a little more action than he anticipated.

From Jeff :

“As a photographer shooting the Crosstown Shootout, I was waiting for the final seconds to tick off the clock to make a picture of the jubilant winners or the dejected losers, whichever presented itself in front of me. Instead, it was total mayhem.”
